I specialize in professional headshots, Lifestyle portraits, event, commercial, and branding photography. Whether you need professional headshots, family portraits, or coverage for your special event, I offer customized packages to suit your needs.
2. How do I book a session?
To book a session, simply fill out the contact or inquiry form on my top right website, and I’ll get back to you within 2-3 business days. You can also reach out directly via email (J.NewkirkPhotography@gmail.com) or phone to check availability and discuss your requirements.
3. What is your pricing?
Pricing varies depending on the type of session and package you choose. For more information, please visit contact me using the inquiry form as best as possible to receive your pricing.
4. How far in advance should I book my session?
It’s recommended to book your session at least 2-3 weeks/months in advance to secure your preferred date, especially during peak seasons.
5. Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a non-retainer deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 2 days before the session date.
6. Where do you typically shoot?
I offer both on-location and in-studio sessions. For outdoor or on-location shoots, we can choose a location together, or I can suggest one based on your preferences. Studio sessions take place at local studios in the Raleigh/Durham area. We do travel to on-site locations across the globe.
7. What should I wear for my session?
Generally, I recommend wearing comfortable, coordinated outfits that reflect your personality. Avoid overly busy patterns. Each session in incredibly unique. With your booking you will receive consultation for your specific session.
8. How long will the session take?
Session length depends on the type of shoot. Most portrait sessions last between 30 min to 2 hours, while events or weddings may require all-day coverage. We’ll discuss the timing during the planning phase.
9. How many photos will I receive?
The number of photos you receive depends on the package you select.
10. When will I receive my photos?
Post-processing takes approximately 2-3 weeks after the session, depending on the complexity and volume of images. I’ll send you an secure online gallery where you can view and download your high-resolution photos.
11. Can I print my photos?
Absolutely! You will receive high-resolution digital files, which you can print on your own. However, I also offer professional printing services if you prefer high-quality prints, albums, or canvases. Please make note in your inquiry for more details.
12. What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
I understand that things come up. If you need to reschedule, please notify me at least 3 days in advance. Cancellations made within 3 days of the session may result in the loss of the deposit.
13. Do you offer retouching or editing?
Yes, all delivered photos include basic retouching (color correction, exposure adjustments, etc.). For more advanced retouching, like removing blemishes or adjusting backgrounds, additional fees may apply. Let me know your preferences, and I can tailor the edits accordingly.
14. Can I share the photos on social media?
Yes, you’re welcome to share your photos on social media! I only ask that you give credit by tagging or mentioning my account. I’ll provide social media-sized images for easy sharing. @
15. Do you travel for shoots?
Yes, I am available for travel depending on the location and the type of shoot. Travel fees may apply for locations beyond Raleigh/Durham, NC. Contact me for a custom travel quote. We do domestic and international travel abroad. Fees may include lodging, airfare and food.
16. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my outdoor shoot?
If the weather is unfavorable, we can either reschedule the session at no extra cost or move it to an indoor location. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and will be in touch as the date approaches.
17. Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, I offer gift certificates that can be used for any type of session. They make a great gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays! Contact me for more information on purchasing a certificate.
18. What’s your photography style?

19. Do you offer video services as well?
Currently, I focus on photography. However, if you need videography services, I can recommend trusted professionals who specialize in video production.

Absolutely! I encourage clients to share any ideas, inspirations, or must-have shots before the session. We’ll discuss your vision during our consultation to ensure you get the images you want.
